All AI platforms must have prior approval, under government rule, informing the importance of oversight and precautions during AI product rollouts.Union Minister Rajeever Chandrasekhar unveiled the advisory on March 1, 15 days in which they are required to submit status reports, said the advisory.
The directive encompasses not only labelling of AI products and obtaining user consent for risky modeling, but it also imposes liability on the AI providers complying to the directive. This act clearly reflects that Google is ready to go to any lengths as in the case of the Gemini model while responding to an issue relating to PM Narendra Modi and consequently abrogating Intermediary Rules and provisions of the Criminal code.
Google posed the problem with that, stating that Gemini is unstable, so it sometimes gives a wrong answer on the query of a particular happening or political issue. The government aims to systematize AI as an unscrupulous tool to address misinformation and deepfake issues setting guidelines for responsible AI application.
