Com2uS, a South Korean game publisher, has recently announced a collaboration with the Oasys blockchain project to bolster Com2uS’s web3 gaming infrastructure as it expands into Japan.
Oasys, known for its work with prominent entities like SoftBank, Sega, and Ubisoft, will provide technical assistance to Com2uS and its blockchain subsidiary XPLA.
Paul Kim, the lead of XPLA, expressed excitement about this venture, stating that it marks a significant step into Japan’s gaming market, the third largest globally.
Com2uS intends to introduce two web3 games in Japan by mid-2024, featuring well-known intellectual properties. Com2uS plans to utilize the distinctive double-layer structure of the Oasys blockchain, consisting of various Verses (Layer2s) and its own Hub-Layer (Layer1).
It further stated, “Following the XPLA Verse, we are gearing up to launch games on the Oasys network, targeting the burgeoning Japanese Web3 gaming market. Our initial offering is the recently onboarded game, ‘The Walking Dead: All-Stars.’ Beyond this, our game lineup will continue to expand, with titles such as ‘Summoners War: Chronicles,’ a beloved IP game among Japanese gamers.”
Com2uS, established in 1998, currently boasts a market capitalization of over 605 billion Korean won ($454 million) as of the most recent Monday in Asia.
