Manson Construction crews have began beach nourishment operations in the City of Solana Beach, CA.
This long-awaited beach replenishment project kicked off last week and includes dredging and pumping around 700,000 cubic yards of sand on to the beach.
The work will create approximately 25-acres of new public beach area in Solana, between Tide Park stairs and the southern City limits.
The primary goal of the Solana Beach Project is to restore sand supplies to the shoreline and promote long term coastal resiliency in the City and region.
The project will be repeated approximately every 10 years over the next 50 years for a total sand volume of 2.1 million cubic yards.
